What is Dagon Roots

Dagon Roots was formed in the very early days of WoW, as a merge of the guilds New Roots and Esoterica Orde De Dagon.

We have since been on Bloodscalp as a guild that focusses on PVE Raiding. We have made steady progress through the raid content so far. This culminated in TBC in a 2/6 clear of SWP before patch 3.0, and a full clear of that instance - and with it all available content - before the release of WotLK.
We have continued to raid at this level in WotLK. We focus on 25 man raiding, while 10 man raids are regularly being organised on other nights.

Dagon Roots is a well-established guild with a stable core of players. We're an international guild, with players from all over Europe.
We try to maintain a friendly and mature atmosphere within the guild. Most of us are at work/school or otherwise busy during the day, and want to have a good evening of raiding with friends. So while we're not a hardcore raiding machine and do like to have a laugh, we also expect players to put in the effort that allows us to continue to bash our way through the challenges Blizzard throws at us.

We raid four times a week:
Mondays, wednesdays, thursdays and sundays 20:00 till 23:00 server time.
Depending on progress this can sometimes be stretched by up to 30 minutes to 23.30 if the raidleader decides to push for a kill.

For loot distribution we use an auction system, allowing people to bid on items with any amount of their current DKP.


What do we expect from an applicant?

(We also have a Friend rank, for people who don't intend to raid with us, but have a link with the guild through one or more of our other members. People who are interested in joining us as friend rank can obviously skip this section.)

We require raiders to attend to at least 50% of the raids.

While we don't require a certain level of gear, we do expect people to have put time and effort into their character. That means having a viable raiding spec, the right enchants on your gear, and the right gems.
We generally do not recruit players younger than 16 years.

We use Ventrillo for communication during raids. If you don't have a microphone then at least being able to hear during the raids is essential.

All raiders are required to have the following addons installed:
- oRA2
- BigWigs
- Omen

We expect everyone to bring their own flasks, pots and food to every raid.

New members join our ranks as trialists. After two weeks the trial status is reviewed, and generally people are then either accepted as full raid ranked players or removed from the guild. In special occasions the trial may be extended.
While on trial, players are expected to meet all the requirements above.

Trialists cannot compete against full members for loot. However if an item drops that no full member bids on for their main spec, trialists are allowed to bid on it, taking priority over full members' off specs.
